Brookwood School Association is the fundraising arm of School Council. We are pleased to have a very active and supportive fundraising association.
Brookwood School Association meetings are normally held once a month, on the fourth Monday, following the School Council meeting.
Brookwood School Association purposes are:
- To identify and manage fundraising activities for the school year
- To provide a formalized structure in order to assist the school with the purchase of products and services for school use
School Association Roles
This person is responsible for running the monthly meetings. He or she sets the agenda, distributes correspondence, and works with the Principal and Assistant Principal to make decisions about where the fundraising dollars will go.
This position is to run the meetings if the President is unable to attend.
This position includes the taking and distribution of the minutes for all meetings, as well as filing any correspondence.
This position is responsible for maintaining the accounting.
This coordinator is the liaison between the Association and the School Council. He or she helps to decide what fundraising activities will be held and assists the activity coordinators as needed.
The Bookfair coordinator is responsible for communicating with Scholastic and setting the dates for the bookfair. They ensure the bookfair is set up, taken down and that volunteers are scheduled to work the week of the bookfair.
Dessert Social Coordinator
Is responsible for organizing the dessert social in conjunction with the Spring bookfair. They will request baking donations from parents, organize volunteers and set up/take down event.
BBQ and Dance Coordinator
This coordinator is responsible for setting the date and booking the necessary vendors for the BBQ and Dance.
Casino / Grant Coordinator
The grant coordinator is responsible for applying for grants as needed. A casino is usually awarded to the school once every 3 years. This coordinator ensure that volunteers are able to work at the casino. Also the coordinator must complete the necessary documentation.
Hot Lunch Coordinator
The hot lunch coordinator is responsible for setting hot lunch days in coordination with administration. This person decides on what was being served for hot lunch and ensure everything was at the school for the hot lunch day. They are also responsible for coordinating a volunteer schedule.
Club Moo Coordinator
This coordinator organizes the milk program and is responsible for preparing notices to families, order forms and milk tickets. He or she follows the “Club Moo” program with Alberta Milk. The coordinator places the milk order and checks it when it arrives. He or she ensures a volunteer schedule is in place for delivery of milk to the students.
Please look for the "News from Our School Council" which will be sent home periodically copied on goldenrod paper.
Receipts & Labels - Fundraising
Please collect and turn in all of your McDonald’s receipts (from Spruce Grove and Stony Plain locations only) to the school, and McDonalds will give the school 10% of the total collected, up to $500 for the year.
Please have your receipts stamped at Boston Pizza and turn them into the school and Boston Pizza will give the school 5% of the total.
Canadian Tire Money
Brookwood School is always collecting Canadian Tire Money, so if you have any extra around or don’t use it, you can turn it in at the school. We redeem it for gift cards to purchase items for the school.
